the USS Arizona Memorial
The USS Arizona is part of the Pearl Harbor National Memorial. Explore this hallowed ground with a self-guided tour that explores the attack, its history, and its global impact.
It’s Oahu’s most visited site and includes access to other key landmarks like the USS Missouri and the Aviation Museum. The Arizona, a World War I battleship, was fully fueled and armed when it was struck.
Before visiting the Memorial, the National Park Service shares a short film with real footage from that day. It’s a must-see for history buffs, military families, and anyone wishing to pay their respects.

Where is the Arizona Memorial located?
What makes the Arizona Memorial unique?
What are the best times to visit the Memorial?
Do you need a reservation for the Memorial?
Do tickets guarantee you will board the Arizona?
No. A reserved ticket on the shuttle boat never guarantees you will board the Arizona Memorial, regardless of whether you or a tour company booked them.
The United States Navy operates the shuttle boats, and they have the final say over their launch. In cases of high winds, thunderstorms, and other unforeseen events, access to the Memorial may be cut off without notification or refund.

- Safety Orientation: Prior to boarding, visitors receive a brief safety briefing to ensure a secure and informative journey.
- USS Arizona Memorial Visit: Upon arrival, guests have approximately 15 minutes to explore the memorial, which stands above the sunken remains of the USS Arizona battleship.
- Return Boat Ride: After the visit, the boat returns passengers to the Visitor Center, concluding the program.
- Program Duration: The entire USS Arizona Memorial program lasts approximately 45 minutes.
- Restroom Facilities: There are no restrooms available on the boats or at the memorial. Visitors are advised to use the facilities at the Visitor Center before embarking.
- Reservation Details: Reservations are required and can be made online through Recreation.gov. A non-refundable $1 fee per ticket applies. It’s recommended to arrive at least one hour before your scheduled program time to check in at the Ticket Validation Desk.

Are there restrictions at the National Park?
As a respectful and somber site, visitors are asked to refrain from smoking, loud talking, or engaging in disruptive behavior. Pets are not allowed except for service animals. Photography is permitted, but it’s best to remain mindful of other visitors as this is a sacred place.
In addition, all tour companies must operate by the Commercial User Agreement while at the Visitor Center. Guides are permitted 5 minutes of “wayfinding,” limited to visual directions and instructions.
No guides (from any company) may accompany Visitors through the Road to War, Attack Museums, theater, or shuttle boat to the Arizona.
