Located at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial in Honolulu, the Arizona Memorial is just a short drive from the heart of the City. It’s accessible by car, public transportation, or as part of a tour. Your guide will handle all logistics so you can focus on the experience.
It’s a memorial dedicated to those lost in the attack and an active site of historical reflection. The Memorial provides direct access to the sunken USS Arizona, offering visitors a chance to pay respects in a way few other sites can.
The Memorial is open daily, but visiting in the early morning or late afternoon is recommended for a more peaceful experience and cooler temperatures. Since tickets are often in high demand, booking your spot in advance is a good idea.
While no permit is required, reservations for the shuttle boat are recommended to reserve your spot. Tickets can be reserved online, and while standby tickets are known, they are limited.

No. A reserved ticket on the shuttle boat never guarantees you will board the Arizona Memorial, regardless of whether you or a tour company booked them.

The United States Navy operates the shuttle boats, and they have the final say over their launch. In cases of high winds, thunderstorms, and other unforeseen events, access to the Memorial may be cut off without notification or refund.

The USS Arizona Memorial program at Pearl Harbor National Memorial is managed by the National Park Service and facilitated by the United States Navy, the program includes the following key components:

  • Timed Boat Ride: Departing every 15 minutes from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the boat transports visitors from the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center to the USS Arizona Memorial. Each boat accommodates up to 145 passengers, adhering to U.S. Navy and Coast Guard regulations.
  • Safety Orientation: Prior to boarding, visitors receive a brief safety briefing to ensure a secure and informative journey.
  • USS Arizona Memorial Visit: Upon arrival, guests have approximately 15 minutes to explore the memorial, which stands above the sunken remains of the USS Arizona battleship.
  • Return Boat Ride: After the visit, the boat returns passengers to the Visitor Center, concluding the program.
  • Program Duration: The entire USS Arizona Memorial program lasts approximately 45 minutes.
  • Restroom Facilities: There are no restrooms available on the boats or at the memorial. Visitors are advised to use the facilities at the Visitor Center before embarking.
  • Reservation Details: Reservations are required and can be made online through Recreation.gov. A non-refundable $1 fee per ticket applies. It’s recommended to arrive at least one hour before your scheduled program time to check in at the Ticket Validation Desk.

For more information and to make reservations, please visit the USS Arizona Memorial Programs page on the National Park Service website.

As a respectful and somber site, visitors are asked to refrain from smoking, loud talking, or engaging in disruptive behavior. Pets are not allowed except for service animals. Photography is permitted, but it’s best to remain mindful of other visitors as this is a sacred place.

In addition, all tour companies must operate by the Commercial User Agreement while at the Visitor Center.  Guides are permitted 5 minutes of “wayfinding,” limited to visual directions and instructions.

No guides (from any company) may accompany Visitors through the Road to War, Attack Museums, theater, or shuttle boat to the Arizona.
